Healthy mind is Healthy Body. Nazareth College of Arts and science believes in training the students of both genders to reach greater heights in realizing the vision in building responsible citizens and leaders through sports. The college has excelled in promoting sports for the community in Avadi. Nazareth College supports in providing its sporting facilities for all district level sports and games competitions held by the District Sport Authorities and private sports associations to anchor their sports events every year. The management promotes sports culture inside the campus which enable our students to win laurels at the State, National, and International level. The institution has adequate facilities for sports and cultural activities. Special coaches for individual games are invited to train the students. Besides university tournaments, the students are encouraged to take part in district, state and national level tournaments.
Nazareth instills in its student’s healthy competitiveness combined with academic success through its Nazareth Sports Excellence Programmes(NSEP). The NSEP is a flagship initiative of Nazareth College of Arts and Science which currently support over 100 students who are studying across 8 disciplines. The programme provides free accommodation and food, travel, sporting equipments and fee concessions to students enrolled to college through sports. Nazareth College provides top trainers to coach the students, who follow a regular time table and also personalised training for them. A mini gym is attached with NSEP to enable the students to gain strength and flexibility required for their sports and games. The students represent the college and university at regional, district, state, national and international sports events. Since its inception, the sports students have consistently achieved success and brought laurels to the college and university. Every year our students find a place in the University of Madras team and representing them and Nazareth. The college believes in encouraging students to engage in sports thereby contributing to the National Development. There are about 20 students who have secured jobs in state/central govt jobs due to sports quota since last 5 years.

In the current scenario companies are looking for technical graduates with industry friendly skills who should constantly retool their schools as their knowledge has a short shelf life. In keeping with this trend Nazareth has signed Memorandum of Understanding with the reputed agencies such as Amsol IT Private Limited, Bryn Train, 7 MPS, MaFoi, NIIT, Vy systems, Finmark Traders, ART LAB Madras, GUSTO, TeachSub Academy, Alchemy Academy of Performing Arts, Ministro Foundation – Chennai, Pragnya – Chennai, Finmark -Chennai. The College Institution Interaction Cell promotes closer interaction between the academic and Industrial fields. The purpose of the cell is to find out the gap between need of the industry and end product of the institution. The cell is the bridge between the industry, the real world and the institute. The students are exposed to the market and its demand. The cell helps the students to find a smooth transition from college to corporate life. The cell also serves as a platform for students in finding internship opportunities as part of their curriculum and during vacation. It serves as a base for where workshops, conferences and symposia with joint participation of the industries. Industry experts also connect with students through webinars, video conference, online training programmes and lectures. This also serves as place to establish rapport with industries for taking up mini projects and projects, strengthen Alumni relations, assist the Training and Placement Division and organize industrial visits.
To facilitate the interaction, process the College also has collaborations with National and International agencies such as Mukesh Infoserve, an ISO 9001:2008 Certified SAP-enabled organization, University of Bengkulu Indonesia to faster friendship, academic exchange and promote academic research. Coburg University of Applied Science and Arts Germany to co-operate in Faculty Exchange, Joint Development of Academic and Research Activities, Academic Publications, Joint Seminar/Workshops/Internships/Conference, Training faculty, Research Scholars and Students. KDU University Malaysia to develop Mobility Programmes for student exchange, staff exchange and institutional programmes. University of Sabah for Joint Seminar/Workshops/Internships/Conference, Academic Publications and student exchange. Mosaic Ambrosia Software Company based in Paradise Valley, USA.
Nazareth College of Arts and Science (India) is now a member of the United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI)! Please keep us informed about all your UNAI-related activities, which we would like to highlight in our Newsletter and on the website. You are also expected to submit an annual report after the end of the calendar year highlighting your UNAI-related activities.
