IIC

Institution’s Innovation Cell of Nazareth College of Arts & Science

The IIC was established in the year 2018-2019 in Nazareth College of the Arts & Science.

Vision of IIC: To fulfill the requirements of faculty and student entrepreneurs with innovative ideas based on challenges faced in the society which results in creation of good environment for entrepreneurship thereby stimulating the education system which inculcates the nation’s growth in various fields.

Mission of IIC: 

  • To motivate the students and faculty members in establishing their innovative ideas to create an innovation promotion eco system within the campus.
  • To conduct various entrepreneurship and innovation related activities framed by Ministry of Institutional Council.
  • To update innovative projects completed by our institution’s students and faculty in Institution’s innovation portal.

Key Roles in the Cell:

  1. IPR Coordinator: The Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Coordinator is crucial for educating and guiding the institution on the importance of protecting intellectual property. This role involves organizing workshops, seminars, and awareness programs about patents, trademarks, copyrights, and other forms of intellectual property.
  2. NIRF Coordinator: The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) Coordinator is responsible for gathering and analyzing data to help the institution improve its ranking. This role includes coordinating efforts to enhance academic performance, research output, and overall institutional quality.
  3. Startup Coordinator: The Startup Coordinator focuses on nurturing entrepreneurial spirit among students and staff. They organize events, provide mentorship, and create an ecosystem that supports the development of startups. Their role is pivotal in connecting students with industry experts, investors, and incubators.
  4. ARIIA Coordinator: The Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements (ARIIA) Coordinator works to enhance the institution’s innovation culture. This role includes tracking and promoting the institution’s achievements in innovation, entrepreneurship, and startup activities, ensuring that they align with ARIIA’s criteria.

Contributing Members:

Alongside these coordinators, there are several members, both students and staff, who contribute to various tasks and projects. Each member brings unique skills and perspectives, ensuring that the cell operates effectively and efficiently. 

The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) is dedicated to cultivating entrepreneurship education across all departments through a well-structured approach. Organized in four quarters, the IIC calendar includes themes such as IPR and Technology Transfer, Innovation and Design Thinking, Entrepreneurship and Startups, and Pre-Incubation and Incubation Centres. These themes guide a diverse range of activities, including workshops, seminars, expert talks, and competitions, aimed at enhancing students’ understanding and skills in these critical areas. By fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship, the IIC ensures that students are well-equipped to navigate and contribute to the rapidly evolving business and technology landscapes.

In addition to on-campus events, the IIC also encourages students to engage in ideation and hackathons organized by the IICs of other institutions, promoting collaboration and exposure to diverse perspectives. These activities not only bolster the students’ entrepreneurial mindset but also provide practical experiences that are essential for the development of successful startups. Through its comprehensive and collaborative approach, the IIC plays a pivotal role in embedding entrepreneurship into the academic fabric of the institution, preparing students to become the innovators and leaders of tomorrow.

Learning Outcome 

The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) of the college has achieved a commendable score of 3.5 out of 5 by Innovation Cell, Ministry of Education, Govt. of India reflecting its strong commitment to fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among students. This score indicates that the IIC is effectively implementing its initiatives across various departments, providing students with valuable opportunities to engage in workshops, seminars, expert talks, and competitions that align with key themes such as IPR and Technology Transfer, Innovation and Design Thinking, Entrepreneurship and Startups, and Pre-Incubation and Incubation Centres.
